Eden: Welcome. I'm Deborah Eden Tull.

Kaira Jewel:  And I’m Kaira Jewel Lingo.

Eden: We invite you to join us for the Shift Network Mindfulness & Meditation Summit: Cultivate Courage, Self-Compassion, and Inner Peace As a Daily Practice. As co-hosts for this summit, which will run May 19 to 22, we want to first acknowledge what an extraordinary time this is for humanity. Extraordinary challenge and extraordinary opportunity. Meditation and mindfulness offer tools for us to cultivate a balanced mind and open heart in order to create in ourselves and our world more resilience, more kindness, more courage and compassionate action. This summit is not just about sitting meditation. It's about bringing meditation into every aspect of our lives.

Kaira Jewel: Our heart's intention is for you to come away from the summit more resilient, more grounded, and in touch with your vibrant aliveness — and prepared to face the uncertainty and upheaval that is all around us. This summit is completely free and we sincerely hope you'll join us. We have over 25 incredible leaders in the field who offer concrete and powerful ways to integrate this practice of resilience, kindness, and compassion into our relationships, into our personal lives, our work, our friendships, and into our society.

Eden: The teachings in this summit range from the resilience revolution, unconditional kindness, cultivating forgiveness, healing rage... practices for connecting more deeply with the natural world, for navigating illness... practices for nocturnal meditation and the realm of dreams... and practices for relational mindfulness and connecting more deeply with our relational intelligence.

Kaira Jewel: Part of what really excites us is the diversity represented in this group. Our list of speakers range from Buddhist teachers to secular mindfulness teachers, activists and change-makers, healers, researchers, and musicians. Our speakers also represent diversity in race, age, sexual orientation, gender, and life experience. Each of our speakers brings mindfulness meditation into their own lives and into the world in unique and powerful ways. We know that hearing their wisdom and their stories will support each of us to touch joy, balance, self-awareness, kindness, and courage in our daily lives in deeper and deeper ways.

Eden: Kaira Jewel and I have given our hearts to having deep, down-to-earth and transformative conversations with each of the speakers who are part of this summit. We've had an incredible time creating this summit and we hope that you will join us.

Kaira Jewel: We want to emphasize that this summit is offered for free — and whether you're new to mindfulness or you've been practicing devotedly for decades, this summit will support and inspire you to go deeper. Please join us.
