Daniel J Foor
Dr. Daniel Foor is a teacher and practitioner of practical animism who specializes in ancestral and family healing and in helping folks learn to relate well with the rest of the natural world. His focus on the ancestors sources from his training as a doctor of psychology and licensed marriage and family therapist, from the guidance of his teachers in earth-honoring traditions (e.g., European pagan paths, Native American ways, Mongolian shamanism, and West African Ifá/Òrìṣà tradition), and from two decades of implementing the teachings of ancestor reverence in his own life.
Since 2005 Daniel has guided hundreds of ancestor trainings, rituals, and talks throughout the United States and helped many others to reconnect with their family ancestors through personal sessions. He is the author of Ancestral Medicine: Rituals for Personal and Family Healing (Inner Traditions, 2017), and he now trains others in the practice of ancestral lineage healing.
Daniel Foor's doctoral research in psychology focused on the use of shamanic healing practices by clinical mental health professionals. Training as a therapist, living in other societies, and immersion in different lineages of ritual work all inform his kind and non-dogmatic approach to ancestor and earth reverence. Although Daniel draws inspiration from lineages of established practice, his public offerings and ritual methods aim to be culturally inclusive, and he holds work for cultural and earth healing to be inseparable from spiritual teaching and practice.

And hopefully, how to bring out the best.” Her success in understanding men naturally led to studying women’s behavior and making vital connections between the two.

She shares her direct experience of the essential message she received from Papaji and offers it to all who want to discover true and lasting fulfillment. In the 1970s she began exploring deeper levels of her being and took Bodhisattva vows, practiced Zen and Vipassana meditation, helped run a Tibetan Buddhist Meditation Center, and had a career as an acupuncturist in the San Francisco Bay area. Despite her successes, Gangaji continued to experience a deep and persistent longing for fulfillment. She pursued many paths to change her life including relationship, motherhood, political activism, career, and spiritual practice, but even the greatest of her successes ultimately came up short. In the wake of her disillusionment, she made a final prayer for true help.
In 1990, the answer to her prayer came unexpectedly, taking her to India and to the meeting that would change everything. There on the banks of the river Ganga, she met Sri H.W.L. Poonja, also known as Papaji, who opened the floodgates of self-recognition. In this meeting, Gangaji’s personal story of suffering ended and the promise of a true life began to flower and unfold. Today, Gangaji travels the world speaking to seekers from all walks of life. A faculty and author, she shares her direct experience of the essential message she received from Papaji and offers it to all who want to discover a true and lasting fulfillment. Through her life and words, she powerfully articulates how it is really possible to discover the truth of who you are and to be true to that discovery. She is the author of The Diamond In Your Pocket, You Are That, and Hidden Treasure: Uncovering the Truth In Your Life Story.
Grandmother Flordemayo was born and grew up in the highlands of Central America in a family of Mayan healers and raised by her mother, a midwife. Tom Pinkson Ph.D.
Tom Pinkson was born in the heart of New York City in 1945. The death of his father when he was four years old set him on path of exploration that began with psychosomatic illness, and later juvenile delinquency, but eventually took him to the far reaches of the Amazon jungle, the Andes mountains and to an eleven year apprenticeship with a group of Huichol Indian shamans in the Sierra Madre of north central Mexico. Seeking deeper truth about the mysteries of life and death, he sought out and found numerous shamanic “Medicine” teachers who initiated him into totally different realms than those from which he had come.
During this time Tom also earned three college degrees, including a Ph.D. in psychology. His doctoral dissertation, “A Quest for Vision,” described his successful work with heroin addicts in the early 1970s using a wilderness treatment program that included mountain climbing, river running, snow camping, ski touring and vision quests in the High Sierra. The quests continue to this day, forty years later with people coming from all over the United States to join him on these powerful experiences of solitude and adventure in the back country of Yosemite. From working with drug addicts, he went on to help start the second hospice program in the United States, offering support services to the terminally ill. From there, he was invited to join Dr. Jerry Jampolsky at the Center for Attitudinal Healing in Tiburon California to work with children facing life-threatening illness which he did for thirty two years.
Tom went on to create his “Recognition Rites Honoring Elders" along with a CD recording using music and song to open hearts and minds to the wisdom of deep being. Walking in two worlds, the shamanic world of indigenous spirituality, and the Western world of a psychologist, consultant, teacher, sacred storyteller, and ceremonial and retreat leader, Tom serves as a bridge-builder, bringing what he calls “The Teachings of the Elders” into practical applications within the modern, urban setting. From major corporations to pediatric oncology units within prestigious cancer treatment centers, from the academic world to rites of passage work with children, adolescents and adults, the dying process and subsequent work of grief, mourning, and rebirth, Tom’s work has had dramatic impact in enriching people’s lives, described in his three books, SHAMANIC WISDOM OF THE HUICHOL: MEDICINE TEACHINGS FOR MODERN TIMES, Do They Celebrate Christmas in Heaven? Spiritual Rite of Passage Teachings from Children with Life-Threatening Illness, and FRUITFUL AGING: MEETING THE CHALLENGES — MINING THE OPPORTUNITIES.
Tom is also the founder and director of a non-profit, spiritually based community, “Wakan,” which offers a variety of programs and services helping people find and remember what is sacred in their lives. He has appeared on international TV and radio, written numerous articles, and produced video and audiotapes on attitudinal healing, spirituality and shamanism.
Tom has two grown children, three grandchildren and lives with his wisdom-woman wife Andrea, in Northern California.

Matthew Fox is a spiritual theologian, an Episcopal priest and an activist. As a spiritual theologian he has written 32 books that have received numerous awards. He has contributed much to the rediscovery of Hildegard of Bingen, Meister Eckhart and Thomas Aquinas as pre-modern mystics and prophets. As an activist Fox’s interests have been the renewal of education and of religion. He established the Institute in Culture and Creation Spirituality that flourished for 21 years. Fox then founded his own University in downtown Oakland, the University of Creation Spirituality, which flourished for nine years.
Now Fox is applying the same pedagogy to reinventing education from the inner city out by working with inner city teenagers. Fox has been working with young people to reinvent forms of worship by bringing elements of rave such as dance, dj, vj and more into the Western Liturgy. The Cosmic Mass has been celebrated over 90 times and in dozens of cities in North America. Fox is recipient of the Abbey Courage of Conscience Peace Award, the Ghandi King Ikeda Award, the Tikkun National Ethics Award and other awards.
